A new Pokémon tale is about to unfold! During the closing ceremony of the annual Pokémon World Championship event, there was a series of amazing announcements and updates. But the biggest announcement came in the form of a new film announcement, ending the 7-year drought without a Pokémon film and promising to be the most unique story to date!
A brand new teaser trailer for the new movie was unveiled during the closing ceremony. The new anime film, Pokémon: Wild Card, will be a new take on a story based on the hit franchise. It follows a Pokémon Trading Card Game player and his partner Pokémon, Mimikyu, as they work together and give it all they’ve got during exhilarating card battles.
The film will be directed by Katsuhiko Kitada, characters will be designed by Akemi Hayashi, and animation will be handled by CloverWorks. The film will be the first animated film not to be animated by OLM, Inc, and also the first film not to be produced by the Pikachu Project.
