DanDaDan Cast Panel at Anime Las Vegas 2026

This year marks the fourth annual Anime Las Vegas 2026, where we celebrate the off-kilt raunchiness that is DanDaDan, an anime about two high school students trying to survive an attack from aliens and ghosts. What could be worse to deal with other than budding hormones, gossip girls, bullies and midterms? Grab your talismans and graphics calculators, because it’s about to be vulgar and comical with the DanDaDan English dub cast.

The Cast Panel

For this panel, we had Abby Trott (Momo Ayase), Barbara Goodson (Turbo Granny), AJ Beckles (Ken Takakura Okarun) and Kari Wahlgren (Seiko Ayase), with Zoey G joining as the Moderator. The cast talk about how they were introduced to anime and to DanDaDan, the lines that got them hooked on the show, and how relatable their characters are in relation to people and to real-life situations.

“We are Hot Granny today.”

As the English voice for Momo Ayase, Abby tells how she was obsessed with Shion Wakayama’s performance, the Japanese voice actress for Momo. She goes on to explain that she could hear the real rawness in her performance, which made her all the more ecstatic when she was cast. Abby gets behind Momo on how she does not stand for bullying. Her favorite scene is when Momo catches Aira bullying Okarun, so she uses her powers to drop a basin on her head.

AJ opens up about how engaging Okarun is as the nerdy kid in school, totally unpopular and obsesses over this one thing (aliens) that no one else understands, and makes fun of him for it. Everyone is just trying to fit, so might as well make fun of the weird kid. His story is of that one person who comes into existence to have your back and to keep you going until you find your village. Seiko really challenges the idea of a woman aging in the entertainment industry. Kari has had so many mothers and grandmothers approach her at conventions to tell her how much they love Seiko for someone they can relate to and appreciate.

Aliens vs. Ghosts

Barbara may not fully omit believing in ghosts, however, she does believe in the world being such a diverse culturalization of the supernatural, as well as there being life beyond our planet. AJ went straight to the point: he believes in aliens, he does not believe in ghosts, but only because he hasn’t experienced such an encounter himself. He believes that with the expanding universe, the probability of aliens is more likely than ghosts at this point, but he is keeping an open mind.

The DanDaDan manga is currently at volume 20, with volume 21 being released in October 2026. It’s available at both VIZ Media and the Crunchyroll store. At least two seasons are available on Netflix, Hulu and Crunchyroll, with season three having been officially announced and set to premiere in 2027, as revealed during Jump Festa 2026.
