More About Pokémon Champions
Fans have waited a while for Pokémon Champions, seeing as the game’s announcement came at the 2025 Pokémon Presents livestream, last February. At this year’s Pokémon Presents livestream last month, they announced the game would come out this year. Finally, a month later, we get the official release.
Pokémon Champions focuses on battles, similar to previous games in the franchise. Similar to previous games, Champions will emphasize Pokémon’s types and abilities to create unique battles.
Due to the mechanics of the Pokémon world, players will also be able to formulate interesting battle plans by understanding what types work best against others or what moves hit hardest in battle. As players train their Pokémon, whether that be improving HP or increasing attacks, adapting and learning are among the most important features of the game.
Some familiar Mega Pokémon, who were previously featured in Pokémon Z-A, will make their return in Champions. Those include Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar and Mega Feraligatr. Although the three Mega Pokémon have been featured in other games, they will receive some brand new skills in Pokémon Champions. You do not want to miss these new skills either.
Finally, like many new Pokémon games, Pokémon Champions will have the option to connect to your Pokémon HOME. Pokémon HOME allows players to bring in Pokémon they’ve caught in other games, like Pokémon GO or Sword/Shield.
Until Pokémon Champions’ official release next month, fans can continue to enjoy the numerous other projects from the Pokémon world, such as Pokémon GO or Pokémon Z-A. Keep up with Champions on their official website here.
