Old stories of Jedi and the Empire pave the way for a new swordbearer. This person could come from any and all walks of life, but it’s up to them to seek out their own path, whether it be for peace, or for power. A chance find leads to a quest on adventure and danger, but only time will tell if these characters are deemed worthy to write their own stories on the Path of the Lightsaber.
Nioka Nastar
Barely escaping the clutches of the First Order, Nioka loses her family but gains another on the Random Luck, a mining and salvage ship ordered to find something buried in an asteroid by a mysterious client. Young and naive, Nioka finds her inspiration for courage through stories of Luke Skywalker and the Jedi Order. Even if it’s only pretend, she truly believes she can be as strong as the Jedi, take on any adversary, and free herself from her own fear.
Barun
An old Rebel Alliance soldier turned first mate to the Random Luck ship. Barun treats Nioka almost like a daughter, telling her stories of the Jedi and how they defended the galaxy from threats like the Empire. He remembers times of fighting alongside Luke Skywalker on the moon of Endor, helping defeat the Empire, only to see it rise again as the First Order. Now with the ship and part of the crew gone, and Nioka in need of a master, he helps her in her quest to become a Jedi.
Tobue Taizen
The son of an Imperial Royal Guard, Tobue trained alone on a planet believed to be an ancient training ground for the Jedi. He trained for one singular purpose: to destroy the Jedi in the name of the Empire. He was raised to hate the Jedi, but the only thing he hates more is the Knights of Ren, who killed his father. He joins Nioka and Barun, agreeing to be her master so long as he gets revenge for his father by destroying Kylo Ren and his knights.
Master Itai, the Ren Prospect
One of the most experienced hunters in the galaxy, Itai aspires to become one of the Knights of Ren and serve under Kylo Ren. In order to do so, he’d been tasked to search for Reha Anudis, a wayseeker who may have discovered a spot in the galaxy brimming with the Dark Side of the Force referred to as “The Abyss”. Anudis had hidden any way of discovering the Abyss, but as luck would have it, the key to finding it may be in the hands of Nioka and the lightsaber she found. Now, Itai is hot on her trail to find that which he seeks most: ultimate power.
ARAR-TOOZERO (RR-20)
A most loyal and obedient probe droid, RR-20, will not hesitate to prostrate any who is in the presence of its master, Itai, the Ren prospect. Equipped with high intelligence and lethal weapons, RR-20 will serve its master to the letter. And if it should fail to do so, it immediately activates its self-destruct sequence as punishment. Itai, in need of his probe droid and most obviously his only companion, stops RR periodically from destroying itself, deeming it too valuable to lose when on one of his hunts.
Yindi
A prisoner of Ren Prospect, Itai, Yindi is referred to as an “oracle” by her tribe. Not much is known about her except for her power to seek out an individual from an item of their possession. Itai uses her like a bloodhound, sniffing out his prey throughout the galaxy, and punishes her severely if she tries to resist.
Captain Keela and Pilot Droid Enate (N-8)
Completing the crew of the salvage ship The Random Luck, Captain Keela gives not one ship about who she and her crew work for. When tasked by their client to salvage something from an asteroid, she and Barun trade barbs on whether working for the First Order is justified. Either way, money is more important than morality in Keela’s defense, which is why both she and the pilot droid Enate unfortunately don’t make it to payday.
