Let’s Play’s Beginning

Created by Leeanne M. Krecic, known as Mongie to her fans, Let’s Play originally ran on Webtoon from 2016 through 2022, where it gained over 7.5 million subscribers globally and earned an Eisner Award nomination. However, the series left Webtoon and began adapting elsewhere due to difficulties with the platform.

The romance slice-of-life series follows video game developer Samara ‘Sam’ Young. Sam creates a game called ‘Ruminate,’ her passion project following being sick in the hospital. However, things take a turn for the worse when a popular reviewer known as Marshall Law attacks her game in his latest review, which causes his fans to review bomb her game.

As if things can’t get worse, Marshall moves in next door to Sam. Let’s Play highlights romance, comedy and more serious themes, such as anxiety, while keeping fans entertained with video games, memes and an adorable dog.

For those interested, the Let’s Play English dub began streaming today and can be found on Crunchyroll.
