This story follows Utage Kinoshita, a high school student who works part-time as a house cleaner to feed her fangirl obsession over Tamon Fukuhara, a member of the popular idol group, F/ACE. Utage is tasked one day to clean the home of her idol and she quickly learns that Tamon’s on-stage persona is very different from his true personality. Tamon suffers from major imposter syndrome and anxiety, and with Utage’s help, she helps him become a little less afraid of the world.

Published in 2022, the manga of Tamon’s b-side received a lot of outstanding feedback from shoujo fans. It was nominated for the Next Manga Award in the print category and placed 11th from 50 nominees. The success can be attributed to mangaka Yuki Shiwasu for having another popular shoujo manga series, Takane and Hana. While that manga series became widely known in the romance category, Tamon’s b-side is the only Yuki Shiwasu manga to receive an anime adaptation.

Maybe this new anime series will bring new fans to both manga series and allow for these rom-coms to tug at our heartstrings. Check out the Tamon’s b-side trailer below:
