The Feeling was One of Eager Anticipation
Anime enthusiasts packed Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 for a high-energy panel on “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle,” offering an exciting preview of the next chapter just weeks before its U.S. theatrical debut.
The Saturday event, held July 26, drew thousands of fans eager for updates on the epic trilogy adapting the manga’s Infinity Castle arc. Japanese singer LiSA kicked off the panel with a live performance of the series’ iconic theme “Gurenge,” electrifying the crowd. LiSA later returned for an encore performance and performed Zankoku na Yoru na Kagayake for the new Demon Slayer Movie. Voice actor for protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, Natsuki Hanae, joined representatives from ufotable studio to discuss the production’s intricate animation.
A highlight was the exclusive screening of the film’s first 15 minutes, showcasing intense battles and stunning visuals that left attendees cheering. “It was mind-blowing,” said one fan exiting Hall H, praising the seamless blend of action and storytelling. Panelists teased deeper explorations of demon lore and character arcs, building anticipation for the trilogy’s narrative payoff.
The panel served as a global launchpad for the movie, which premiered in Japan on July 18 to record-breaking box office numbers. In the U.S., Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are distributing the first installment, set for a wide release on Sept. 12, with IMAX screenings available. Early access showings on Sept. 9 are reserved for premium Crunchyroll subscribers at select theaters.
Demon Slayer has captivated audiences since its 2019 debut, blending supernatural elements with themes of family and resilience. The Infinity Castle films mark the series’ climactic end. With the U.S. premiere approaching, fans are gearing up for the blockbuster event, extending the franchise’s cultural impact.
