Everyone’s favorite undead idol group, Franchouchou, is back with an all-new anime promo video!
On April 25, 2025, the official Zombie Land Saga X(Twitter) account posted a new key visual promoting the upcoming theatrical movie Zombie Land Saga: Yumegin Paradise.
That same day, the official YouTube channel released a promo video that pays homage to Stanley Kubryck’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. This is quite fitting, seeing as how an extraterrestrial element has been added to the story. The movie will be released in Japan on October 24, 2025. However, no U.S. release has been announced yet.
About Zombie Land Saga
It was supposed to be Sakura Minamoto’s big day. She was about to take the first step in fulfilling her dream of becoming an idol. Finally, she had something to live for, something she believed in and could dedicate her whole life to. Then she died! She wakes up in a mysterious mansion with six other girls and a man named Kotaro Tatsumi. He’s gathered these seven shining stars from various eras of Japan to form an idol group to reinvigorate domestic interest in their home prefecture, Saga. There’s just one catch. They’re all zombies. Thus begins the chaotic saga of Franchouchou to become the number 1 idol group in Japan while keeping their undead-ness a secret.
Season 1 of Zombie Land Saga premiered in October 2018 and ran for 12 episodes. It split its story between various gigs and gags to promote Franchouchou as a legit idol group and exploring the girl’s backstories. Most of them were plucked out of bygone eras. Some adjust to the modern culture shock more gracefully than others, but they end up supporting each other through that dissonance.
The sequel series, Zombie Land Saga: Revenge aired for another 12 episodes starting in April 2021. With their newfound popularity comes a mountain of troubles, least of which is crippling debt. As Franchouchou struggles to stay afloat, events beyond their control start escalating. The very fate of Saga prefecture seems tied to the fate of these undead idols. After one of their biggest concerts yet, some unexpected extraterrestrial visitors appear.
Zombie Land Saga is available to stream on Crunchyroll in sub and dub formats as well.
