Zenless Zone Zero is an urban fantasy action RPG from the creators of Genshin Impact. In the wake of mysterious disasters called Hollows, where violent monsters called Ethereals roam, the city of New Eridu has flourished as a beacon of hope for humanity. Players take on the roles of Proxy siblings Wise and Belle. They complete commissions by helping clients navigate the Hollows. Recruit special combat agents to fight against the Ethereal threat. Uncover the secrets of the old civilization and discover everything New Eridu has to offer. Version 1.7 brings the first season to a close with a new main story chapter, “Bury Your Tears with the Past (B).”
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.7
After a tense standoff with the phantom thief syndicate Mockingbird, more danger looms on the horizon. The Sacrifice Core is still missing, New Eridu’s top brass fight amongst themselves, and a chilling prophecy foretells disaster. Players are going to need all the help they can get. Luckily, a couple of familiar faces join the roster.
Vivian is the newest S-rank Ether Anomaly agent. Players first met this petite prophet in version 1.6. Now they’ll have a chance to recruit her as a playable character. In battle, she switches between states to gain the high ground, literally. Her abilities trigger additional damage when her squad mates land their EX skills or trigger an Attribute Anomaly. She synergizes well with other Anomaly and Ether agents. She will be available in the first phase of the signal search event, along with a rerun of Jane Doe.
Hugo makes a grand entrance as the newest S-rank Ice Attack agent. The infamous phantom thief is just as deadly as he is charming. With a scythe disguised as a briefcase, he can unleash devastating attacks at close range and from afar. If an enemy is stunned, his abilities trigger a new effect, Totalize, which increases Hugo’s damage based on the remaining Stun duration. He synergizes well with other Stun and Ice agents. He will be available in the second phase of the signal search event, along with a rerun of Lighter.
New Events
New events will be released during version 1.7 along with some old favorites.
Express your floral aestheticism by working at Orchidea’s flower shop. Make stunning arrangements based on the clients’ preferences in the event “Say It with Flowers.” By completing these commissions, players can receive the new Bangboo, Overtimeboo, for a limited time for free.
The chaotically fun Bangboo event, the Grand Marcel, returns in “Bangboo Bash!” Jump, dive, and race other Bangboo to the finish line in an obstacle course or be the last Boo standing as the floor disappears. This time, players can compete in ranked matches to see how they stack up on the leaderboards.
An old friend makes a tasty comeback. In “Savor the Flavor: Citywide Delivery,” the chef of the famous food truck, Breaded Belief, will ask the Proxies to assist in delivering their food throughout the city. One lucky customer will make their request and it’s up to the player to remember what food they ordered. Complete the event missions for Polychromes and other cool rewards.
Two new events will have players exploring their creative sides. Help a famous author write a novel based on branching plot threads in “A Tale Through the Looking Glass.” Assign agents as special “book spirits” and weave your own unique story. For aspiring filmmakers, there’s the “Springtime Snapshot” event. Assist a renowned director in capturing stunning photos with the right location, models, and filters. Snap away!
Zenless Zone Zero Gets an Xbox Release
The final announcement of the program celebrated the release of Zenless Zone Zero on Xbox systems this June. The official YouTube channel released a special Xbox spotlight, covering the gameplay and story thus far. There’s even an exclusive Bangboo called XBOO to commemorate the release.
