“My Hero Academia” English Cast Panel at Anime Pasadena 2024

Anime Pasadena was in full swing this last weekend. There were many things for convention attendees over the course of the weekend. This included meeting some of their favorite voice actors and attending some of the many panels. One of panels at the convention was the My Hero Academia cast panel.

"My Hero Academia" Cast Panel

The cast in attendance for the panel included Clifford Chapin (Katsuki Bakugo), Christopher Sabat (All Might), Christopher Wehkamp (Shota Aizawa), Leah Clark (Himiko Toga), Patrick Seitz (Endeavor), Zeno Robinson (Hawks), and Trina Nishimura (Kyoka Jiro).

The cast was asked what moment was their favorite that wasn’t from their own character. The common consensus were the episodes from this previous season involving the Todoroki Family and the big Himiko Toga vs. Ochaco Uraraka fight.

Christopher Sabat went on to commend Leah Clark for her work on this season, saying, “I was crying such ugly tears in this last season and oh my gosh, Leah. The work you did this season was so freaking good!”

Another question for the cast involved them answering when they went Plus Ultra in their personal lives. Clifford Chapin chose this time to share a story where Trina Nishimura met a fan of Attack on Titan who was battling serious health issues. They worked to arrange a trip for the fan to tour the Crunchyroll studio and meet some of the cast from Attack on Titan. Trina Nishimura teared up as he told the story. She then joked that she’ll pay him for singing her praises like they discussed beforehand.

During the fan Q&A portion, a comedic moment occurred when a fan asked what each of their characters would be doing if they were quirkless. While everyone provided an answer, Zeno Robinson laughed. He said, “I feel like I’m contractually obligated not to answer this question!”

Then, he went on to joke that Hawks would be a pet shop worker who would tell customers to buy the birds, drawing laughs from both the cast and audience.

About the Series

My Hero Academia follows the story of Izuku Midoriya, who was born quirkless. He meets his idol, All Might, and is given a quirk. Then, he attends UA High’s hero course. As the series progresses, he and his allies come into conflict with All For One, Tomura Shigaraki, and the League of Villains. It comes to a head when war between the two factions breaks out. This leaves Japan in disarray and on the verge of collapse as Izuku, his rival, Katsuki Bakugo, and their allies work to set everything right and stop the villains. All current seasons of My Hero Academia are available to stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu. An eighth and final season will premiere in 2025.
