“SPY X FAMILY CODE: White” on Crunchyroll September 5

Everybody’s favorite fake family is bringing a whole new adventurous story to Crunchyroll on September 5th! SPY X FAMILY CODE: White will make its debut on the streaming site. Join the Forger family, made up of secret agent Loid, his wife Yor (who is secretly an assassin) and their adopted, telepathic daughter Anya as they embark on a winter getaway as part of Loid’s secret mission to save the world.

The first film of the SPY x FAMILY franchise, SPY X FAMILY CODE: White was originally released in Japanese theaters back in December of 2023 before making its theatrical debut in the US in April of 2024. The film was incredibly well received by both critics and fans. It currently boasts a 94% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a 98% audience score. Animation for the film was done by both WIT STUDIO (the animation studio behind the first three seasons of Attack on Titan and the first season of Vinland Saga) and CloverWorks (studio behind Horimiya and the recently released Black Butler: Public School Arc). The studios have been working together to release the series as well. 

The movie is the feature directorial debut of Takashi Katagiri. Also, the original screenplay is written by long time screenwriter Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass, Kaiju No. 8). Returning English voice cast members include Alex Organ as Loid Forger, Natalie Van Sistine as Yor Forger, and  Megan Shipman as Anya Forger. 

Catch Up with the Forgers

For those wanting to catch up with the Forgers before the movie, the first two seasons of the anime series SPY X FAMILY are currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll. However, while the show is based on the popular manga series of the same name, the movie is a stand alone, original story. It does not adapt any of the source material. That means anyone can jump right in and enjoy this new release. SPY X FAMILY CODE: White. The film releases on Crunchyroll September 5th. It will be available in Japanese with subtitles and dubbed in English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, and Castilian Spanish.
