"Uzumaki" Synopsis

High school student Kirie Goshima and her boyfriend Shuichi Saito live in Kurozu-cho (“Black Spiral Town” / “Black Vortex”), a small town in Japan. Saito believes that the town is haunted by the uzumaki, or spirals. These spirals manifest everywhere, such as the whirlpools in the river, swirls in the air, or the hair on one’s body. Though starting small, these spirals continue to grow and make its threatening presence known. As a result of the spirals hypnotizing or terrifying the townspeople, and soon affecting the main characters and their families, Goshima and Saito work together to try to escape the curse before it’s too late.
