Ghosts, aliens, and romance, oh my! DAN DA DAN’s supernatural English dub cast does exist, and it has been revealed!
"DAN DA DAN" English Dub Cast at Anime NYC
Abby Trott (Nezuko Kamado, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) will play Momo Ayase, and A.J. Beckles (Takemichi Hanagaki, Tokyo Revengers) will play Ayase’s classmate Ken Takakura “Okarun.”
To celebrate the release, Trott and Beckles will join the Main Stage at Anime NYC on August 24 for the English dub premiere* from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Japanese voice actors Shion Wakayama (Ayase) and Natsuki Hanae (Okarun), kensuke ushio (music) and Hiroyuki Aoi (producer) will also attend the screening.
*Reservations are required to attend the premiere
Series Release
The first three episodes, titled DAN DA DAN: First Encounter, will release in North American theaters on September 13 and will feature “an exclusive interview with Yukinobu Tatsu and Shihei Lin, the author and editor of the original manga, Fuga Yamashiro, Director of the upcoming anime series, and Shion Wakayama and Natsuki Hanae, voice actors for the leads Momo and Okarun respectively,” according to a GKIDS press release.
DAN DA DAN will be available to stream this October on Crunchyroll.
"DAN DA DAN" Synopsis
High schooler Momo Ayase comes from a family of mediums. Her friend Ken Takakura “Okarun” loves the occults. However, the two don’t see eye-to-eye when it comes to the supernatural: Ayase believes in ghosts but not aliens, while Okarun believes in aliens but not ghosts.
The two try to prove each other wrong. Ayase visits an abandoned hospital where a UFO was seen. Meanwhile, Okarun goes to a haunted tunnel. Though skeptical, the two experience paranormal experiences, and awaken powers within themselves. Somewhere along the line, their love story unfolds…
