Boys’ Love josei manga Twilight Out of Focus is getting an anime this summer. Studio DEEN (Ranma ½, Fruits Basket [2001], Sasaki and Miyano) will animate the series. The anime is set to debut July 4 in Japan.
About Twilight Out of Focus
Twilight Out of Focus is based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Jyanome. The story follows second-year students and roommates Mao Tsuchiya and Hisashi Ohtomo. The two make three promises to one another in order to make their dorm lives easier:
- Tsuchiya won’t tell anyone Ohtomo is gay / has a boyfriend.
- Ohtomo won’t think of Tsuchiya “in that way.”
- Both roommates will knock prior to entering the dorm in case the other is having “private time.”
These rules should ensure a perfectly peaceful dorm life for the two, but some things are easier said than done…
Key Visual, Trailer, and Crew
Also, a new trailer and key visual for Twilight Out of Focus were released today.
Ikusaburo Yamazaki will perform the opening theme song “Crank Up,” while Amber will perform the ending song “Unchain x Unchain.” Toshinori Watanabe will be directing the anime, Yoshimi Narita will do the series composition, and Yoko Kikuchi will do the character designs.
The following Japanese voice actors were previously in the series’ audio drama and will be continuing their roles in the anime:
- Mao Tsuchiya – played by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
- Hisashi Otomo – played by Yuma Uchida
- Jin Kikuchihara – played by Makoto Furukawa
- Giichi Ichikawa – played by Masatomo Nakazawa
- Rei Inaba – played byTakuya Eguchi
- Shion Yoshino – played by Soma Saito
As of right now, there is no confirmation of when or if the series will be dubbed in English or other languages, as well as when the series will premiere worldwide.
