Look Back is a one-shot manga that follows elementary students Ayumu Fujino and Kyomoto, both who also have a passion for creating one-shot manga and publish in their school newspaper, with Kyomoto being the superior artist. The two are very different: Fujino is a confident and popular student, while Kyomoto is fearful of going out in public and stays away from school. The competitive Fujino decides she’s going to work hard to surpass Kyomoto’s already high artistic skill level, but after working tirelessly to improve her skills, she eventually quits.
Fujino ends up delivering Kyomoto’s diploma to her home following graduation, and the two meet for the first time. Their unlikely friendship will permanently alter the course of their lives forever.
