Crunchyroll has announced the English dub cast for the anime adaptation of The Witch and the Beast, and confirmed that it will begin airing on January 25th.

Based on the fantasy thriller manga by Kousuke Satake, the story follows the tall and mysterious Ashaf, a member of “The Order of Magical Resonance” who travels with a coffin strapped to his back, and his partner Guideau who looks like a young girl but is in fact under a curse from a witch. The two travel the world solving magical crimes and hunting down rogue witches, while trying to find the witch that cursed Guideau. A trailer for the series was released a few months ago and offers a look at the aesthetic of the show and an introduction to its main characters.
English Dub Cast Announcement
No information had been announced regarding an English dub until today, when Crunchryoll confirmed that the first episode would be released in English on Thursday, January 25th. A cast has also been announced. Ashaf will be voiced by Xan Cramer, while Rowan Gilvie will voice Guideau. Some other names include Lydia Mackay as Ione, Kelly Greenshied as Marie, and the series’ narrator will be voiced by Kent Williams.
The anime began airing on January 12th and two episodes have been released in Japanese so far. The studio behind the project is Yokohama Animation Laboratory, and it is directed by Takayuki Hamana. As for the crew behind the English dub, voice direction will be handled by Jeremy Inman, the producer is Samantha Herek, the adaptation will be done by James Cheek, the mixer is Gino Palencia and the engineer is Zachary Davis.
New episodes of The Witch and the Beast premiere every Thursday on Crunchyroll, and now the English dub has been confirmed as only two weeks behind the Japanese release schedule. Fortunately for fans waiting to give this show a go until the English dub, the wait is nearly over.
