Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training

Aniplex of America and Crunchyroll confirmed that the film, titled Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training will premiere in North American on February 23rd. The film will consist of the final episode of Demon Slayer: The Swordsmith Village Arc (last year’s season of the anime) and the first episode of the upcoming season titled Demon Slayer: The Hashira Training Arc. A trailer is also now available, although it offers little information on the content of either the film or the upcoming season.

Many other territories have also received official global theatrical release dates for the movie, while some are still to be announced. Dates for a series of World Tour preview screenings, some of which will have appearances from the cast and staff of the anime, have also been announced. Starting in Tokyo on February 2, the preview screenings pop up all over the map throughout the month, from Paris to Jakarta to Mexico City. The US based preview will take place in New York on February 10th.

Demon Slayer has been a huge hit since the anime began in 2019. The story follows Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko after their family is brutally killed by a demon, who also turns Nezuko into a demon herself. On his quest to turn her back into a human, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps, a group of exceptional humans who protect the rest of society from the demons that lurk in the dark.

The anime has had multiple theatrical releases at this point. The animated adaptation of the Mugen Train arc from the manga was released as a movie, and is currently the highest grossing anime film of all time worldwide. A compilation film titled Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village was released in theaters ahead of the last season, premiering the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc after showing the final two episodes of the Entertainment District Arc.

An official release date for Demon Slayer: The Hashira Training Arc has yet to be revealed, although it is confirmed for spring of 2024 and will likely follow a similar timeline after the film’s release as last year’s season, suggesting an early April premiere.
