Los Angeles Comic Con 2023

From December 1st through 3rd, L.A. Comic Con welcomed 122,300+ attendees, with over 1,000 artists and vendors gathered together to share their work with fans. With over 400 artists in Artist Alley, L.A. Comic Con boasted the largest Artist Alley at any US convention. Also, over 250 panels and programming ran all weekend to celebrate the sensational talent behind some of the most beloved and iconic works in comics, gaming, anime, and pop culture.

Chris DeMoulin, CEO at Comikaze Entertainment, L.A. Comic Con’s parent company, said:

"Los Angeles fans deserve a show that represents them and speaks to the eclectic, wonderful and diverse nature of creativity in our town. L.A. is the creative capital of the world, and we try to offer something that will resonate with you no matter what stripe of fandom you represent — from mainstream pop culture to activations around what is new and emerging, from comics to movies and TV to video games and anime. This year, all the fans, exhibitors, artists, talent, and cosplayers really brought their A-game because the energy at the Convention Center was electric all weekend long — inspiring us to continue to try to improve the fan experience year after year. We’re privileged to serve a community of fans who want to celebrate their favorite stories, creators, games and art with fellow fans and make lifelong memories through our halls."

Main stage panels were a hit and brought some of the strongest talent to the show, to-date. These included a spotlight on Lord of the Rings cast members with Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd that drew a record attendance of over 10,000 fans. There was a Q&A for Harry Potter stars Bonnie Wright, James Phelps & Oliver Phelps. A celebration of The Office with Rainn Wilson and Paul Lieberstein also took the stage.

Fans were able to enjoy a one-on-one interview with the Doctor Who star Matt Smith, a gathering of the female powerhouses on The Boys with Erin Moriarty & Karen Fukuhara, a colorful symposium on Marvel’s recently debuted crossover event, The Amazing Spider-Man Gang War, an exciting panel with a Ahsoka actors Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ivanna Sakhno, Eman Esfandi & Diana Lee Inosanto, and much more!

Additionally, Los Angeles Comic Con 2023 took over the West Hall, expanding to over 1.2 million square feet to host a variety of interactive gaming and anime activations. For the first time in this show’s history, attendees were given the chance to test their skills on the big stage against some of the most notable legends in the Fighting Game Community (FGC) — Justin Wong, Punk, and Alex Jebailey (aka Jebailey) — in Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter eSports contests. The West Hall also treated gaming fans with access to a live-streaming via stream studio, a free-play area and indie gaming demos powered by The MIX.

DeMoulin went on to say:

“It's been really exciting to see the fan reaction to our gaming and anime hall over the last two years. We doubled down on the scope and immersive elements this year so that gamers know that this event is just as much theirs as any other fan. With their input, we’ll continue to expand these experiences each year to make L.A. Comic Con the most inclusive and fun gaming event in LA.”

Los Angeles Comic Con will return in 2024 over the weekend of October 4th-6th! Head to their website for more information in the months to come as they prepare for another exciting convention.
