Netflix’s incredibly successful live action adaptation of One Piece is making an appearance in the One Piece Card Game next year.

According to the One Piece Card Game’s official website, nine alternate versions of previously released cards featuring the live action characters will be available and will come with a card booklet. The cast that will be appearing include: Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Steven Ward as Mihawk, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, and Peter Gadiot as Shanks.
The card game, which was launched in 2022 by Bandai, features cards with characters and illustrations from across the One Piece universe. Fans can simply collect the cards, or they can play the battle style game. The rules, tutorial video, and explanation of the game is available on the official One Piece Card Game website. The Netflix series featured on the new cards premiered on August 31st of this year.
Based on the ongoing manga by Eiichiro Oda, the story follows a group of pirates led by Monkey D. Luffy on the hunt for the ultimate lost treasure known as the One Piece. The manga consists of over 100 volumes and is the best selling manga of all time. The anime series has been running since 1999, and has a massive and dedicated following. As such, the Netflix show had a lot to live up to and there was some hesitancy leading up to the premiere. Fortunately, the adaptation was largely well received, with fans praising it for being a successful live action adaptation of the much beloved manga and anime series. It hit number one on the streaming service in 84 countries during its debut weekend, setting a new record for Netflix, and was quickly renewed for a second season.
The new live action edition cards are available for preorder now through November 12th on the Premium Bandai website. The Japanese versions will launch in February of 2024, with the English versions coming in April.
