Two Community Days in one month? This is not a bee-drill! Pokémon Go: Poliwag Community Day is fast approaching. Grab sunscreen, some water, and be sure to Go catch’em all!
Poliwag Community Day
Poliwag Community Day begins Sunday, July 30. Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. local time, trainers around the world will be on the lookout for the chance to catch a shiny Poliwag!
As always, players have up to 5 hours after the event to evolve Poliwag into one of their two final evolutions, Poliwrath or Politoed. If evolved in time, the Pokémon can learn the fast attack “Counter” when trainers choose Poliwrath, or the charged attack “Ice Beam” if they use a King’s Rock for Politoed.
Wondering what other community perks await? We have compiled a list of special features to look out for during the event:
- 3-hour durations for incense and lures.
- 1/4 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in Incubators during the event.
- Increased chance of photobombs during Community Day!
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of three for the day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
If players are fired up and craving more during Poliwag Community Day, then they can purchase the special research task “Slippery Swirls” in the shop. This task will become available for $1 USD as Pokémon Go Poliwag Community Day approaches. Also, if players are feeling generous, then they can gift the research task to friends who have obtained friendship levels of “great friends” or higher.
