Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story features Eve, a crude yet talented golfer who joins an underground golf ring to get enough money to save her family’s bar. However, after being defeated by Aoi Amawashi, a golf prodigy, in a 1-hole match Eve becomes obsessed with her newfound purpose of beating Aoi in a full 18-hole game.
Does the plot sound like your typical sports anime? You’ve guessed wrong. The show also includes a mafi who controls the golf matches, a high school arch with rivalries, special moves, a protagonist who levels up with every episode, girl love, and more.
Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story originally premiered in April 2022 and was produced by Bandai Namco Pictures and was directed by Takayuki Inagaki. The second season premiered earlier this year in April 2023, and on June 15 a Birdie Wing golf game, developed by Viverse and WOWWOW Technology, will be available for the Nintendo Switch.
