One-Punch Man, Two New Heroes, and a New Arc? Say Less!

ONE and Yusuke Murata are preparing us for the next installment of One-Punch Man with the manga’s transition into the Neo Heroes Saga. The newest chapter is here and to add even more excitement, Murata has introduced two ‘new’ heroes in the latest chapter – Neo Heroes, that is!

Heads up, superhero stans – the following information contain spoilers for Chapter #184 (Chapter #182 for Viz Media/Shonen Jump Plus) of One-Punch Man. If you are not caught up on the manga, we highly suggest stopping here for now or continue at your own risk. Need to catch up? Head on over to Viz Media, where all of the chapters are available.

In a superhero society, there is always a “light” side and a “dark” side, and this arc definitely focuses on the latter.

An unofficial One-Punch Man fan account, @everything_OPM, reported the “Neo Heroes Saga” has begun and revealed the first Neo Heroes, Accel (or Axel, depending on the translation), and Raiden. While this account may not be the official One-Punch Man Twitter, it is still a great resource for any Saitama or OPM fan. If you check out their profile, keep in mind that it is *not* spoiler-free – again, you’ve been warned!

Fans of the webcomic may well recognize Accel and Raiden, as they have already been present in the webcomics. Accel is the founder and current leader of the (Neo) Hunters, a vigilante group that have lost people they love to monsters and fight to protect citizens from Mysterious Beings outside of the jurisdiction of the Hero Association.

Raiden is a former yokozuna and professional Super Sumo wrestler who has turned down all attempts made by the Hero Association to join them as a professional S-Class Hero, despite the growing monster threat.

These two characters, along with the rest of the Neo Heroes, don’t appear to hold the Hero Association in the highest of regards and are set to become their biggest rival (and between you and I, possibly even their worst nightmare) in the chapters and arcs to come.

Okay, OPM fans, let’s hear it! Are you down with the Neo Heroes, or are you pro-Hero Association? Is the leader of the Neo Hunters’ name spelled Accel or Axel? Does Raiden look even more intimidating than his name twin in a certain famous fighting game? Are you caught up on the manga and if not, why have you read this far?! We want to know it all, so make sure to pop into the comments and give us your two cents!
