Warner Bros. has picked up Cells at Work! for a live action film, and we cannot wait!
Originally aired in 2018, and the second season having aired in 2021, Cells at Work! is a hilarious, yet fairly accurate portrayal of the different cells within the human body and how they work together – all in anime form. This series was adapted from the manga, written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu.
The two main characters are a red blood cell named AE3803 and a white blood cell named U-1146. The red blood cell finds herself lost more often than not when making deliveries to other parts of the body, and the white blood cell is frequently running into and pairing up with her, fighting any and all germs that invade their human.
Many more cells pop up during the day to day routines of keeping their human alive and functioning, and viewers are able to experience the delight of learning about the human body in a fun way that only anime can really bring to the table.

The live action film is set to be directed by Hideki Takeuchi (Fly Me to the Saitama), with the script written by Yuichi Tokunaga (Fly Me to the Saitama, Kaguya Sama: Love is War live action).
