Since Rooster Teeth announced that it would be shutting down on March 6th, one of the many questions is about the fate of its hit series, RWBY. Now thanks to a recent announcement during a livestream to celebrate the show’s decade long history with Rooster Teeth, we finally have an update.
Livestream Announcement
During the livestream, Geoff Yetter, head of licensing at Rooster Teeth, announced that they were currently in talks with potential buyers to pick up RWBY. It was also said the same creative team behind the show would still be involved with the show if it were to be picked up. However, there was no mention if the team behind the show’s animation and music would be returning as well.
This gives many fans of the show hope. The fate of the show was up in the air after the announcement of Rooster Teeth’s shutdown. Fans were reassured before the livestream when RWBY was promised to be shopped around to potential buyers, but there was no guarantee of it being bought. But now that talks are going well, along with the promise of concrete news in the next few weeks, fans believe it’s only a matter of time.
A Potential Continuation of RWBY
There are still many questions left in the back of peoples’ minds as to which company will possibly purchase the IP. Fans are also wondering if the new owners will truly adhere to the current trajectory of the show’s story or if changes will be made due to the new buyer’s input during production of a possible Volume 10.
