Have no fear, Amy Rose is here! Paramount has officially found its Amy Rose for Sonic the Hedgehog 4! Kristen Bell, known for her roles in Disney’s Frozen and NBC’s The Good Place, will be voicing the hammer-wielding hedgehog in the next movie adventure!
When Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was released in December of 2024, many fans wondered who would be voicing Amy Rose since her surprise appearance in the film’s mid-credit scene! Now, thanks to a tweet by Ben Schwartz, voice of Sonic in the films, we know Kristen Bell has taken up the role.

Kristen Bell is no stranger to voice acting, as she has done multiple animated films, including Princess Anna in Frozen and Cora in Astro Boy. Fans’ reactions have been overwhelmingly positive so far, having faith that Kristen Bell can bring the sass and feistiness often associated with the pink heroine.
Co-stars Colleen O’Shaughnessey, voice of Miles “Tails” Prower and Tika Sumpter, who plays Sonic’s mother figure, Maddie, have also taken to social media to share their excitement and support for Kristen Bell’s casting.
Other Info for Sonic the Hedgehog 4
Not much is known yet about what the upcoming fourth installment will be about. Though with both Amy Rose and Metal Sonic joining the fold, a loose adaptation of Sonic CD, the debut game entry for both characters, could be what fans may expect for the story. Jeff Fowler, the director of the previous 3 films, is expected to return. Along with Jeff Fowler, most of the major characters are expected to return as well, including:
- Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog
- Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower
- Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna
- James Marsden as Tom Wachowski
- Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski
It is currently unknown if Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves and Lee Majdoub will return as Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, Shadow the Hedgehog and Agent Stone, respectively. Filming is expected to begin this year, and the film is expected to be released on March 19, 2027.
